recording data outside in the winter

A big challenge for students in GLPS, summer or winter, is to take notes outside.

First, a reminder as to why they need to take notes:
I'm embarrassed to say I cannot properly cite this book.  It is titled something like, Caliology; the science of bird's nests and was written in 1858.  This is a photo of an introductory page.

Because of technological changes in the past 160 years, students also have to link their notes to photos taken by Teaching Assistants and teachers - and maybe friends as well.  Here is how a few students handled the challenge in GLPS23.

I threw this image in to show what it looks like when a student borrows my camera and takes a picture with no indication who it's for or why.  Yes, these are pine trees, but so what?  Who wants this image?

Having seen the red coat in two previous pictures, this one using fingers to label it is easy to match to the student.
